by Jessica Polko The Cubs placed Nomar Garciaparra on the 15-day disabled list yesterday. Garciaparra left Chicago's April 20th game in St. Louis after injuring his groin while taking off from the batter's box to run to first base. An MRI yesterday revealed that Garciaparra tore a muscle and a tendon away from the bone in his left groin. The Cubs and Garciaparra now are working to decide whether he will undergo surgery to reattach the tendon or if he will wait for the muscle and tendon to heal themselves. Either way, he's projected to miss a minimum of two to three months, and he could easily be out for the season.
