by Jessica Polko During a spring training game last week, Jason Bay suffered a bone bruise to his left wrist while diving for a fly ball. While swelling in the wrist has decreased, he remains very sore, so he probably will not resume swinging a bat for another week. Given the stress swinging puts on players' wrists, Bay may not be ready for Opening Day and even if he breaks camp with the team, the injury likely will sap at least a portion of his strength for the first month of the season if not longer.
