by Jessica Polko Kerry Wood removed himself from his Spring Training start earlier this week after experiencing some tightness in his shoulder. The Cubs responded by sending him back to Chicago for an MRI, which revealed bursitis and inflammation in the shoulder. While his condition isn't considered series, the Cubs plan to hold him out of at least his next start as a precaution. Chicago still expects him to be prepared for the start of the season.
