by Jessica Polko Arizona signed Troy Glaus to a four-year, $45M contract in early December. In addition to a $4M signing bonus, the deal sets his salaries at $8.25M in 2005, $9.25M in 2006, $10.75M in 2007, and $12.75M in 2008. The Diamondbacks also agreed to provide him with a hotel suite on the road and to reimburse him up to $250,000 a year for the cost of his wife running her equestrian business from Arizona rather than on the East Coast. In mid-December, Arizona signed Craig Counsell to a two-year, $3.1M contract. The deal sets his salary at $1.35M in 2005 and $1.75M in 2006. On December 10th, Arizona signed Russ Ortiz to a four-year, $33M contract. In addition to a $3.5M signing bonus, Ortiz will receive salaries of $6.5M in 2005, $7M in 2006, $7.5M in 2007, and $8.5M in 2008.
