by Jessica Polko Sean Burroughs injured his right knee sliding into second base while trying to double after hitting the ball to left in the seventh inning of the Padres' September 15th game in Los Angeles. On the 17th, he underwent surgery to repair a torn joint capsule and torn lateral meniscus. The location of the injury forced the surgeons to repair the tissue rather than remove it, so he will require three to four months rather than weeks to recover.
