by Jessica Polko With rosters expanding yesterday, Texas activated RHP Jeff Nelson, LHP Erasmo Ramirez, and Herbert Perry from the disabled list while calling up Andy Fox and Ken Huckaby. Nelson's DL trip began on August 5th due to lingering soreness in his right elbow following the supposedly minor surgery he underwent on the joint in mid-May. The 37-year-old reportedly felt good during his rehab assignment, and although the Rangers plan to ease him back into the pen, as long as he proves effective, Texas will give him the ball when he's physically able to pitch. Ramirez began his stint on the disabled list on August 23rd after experiencing tightness in his left shoulder. An MRI led to a diagnosis of a strained shoulder muscle. The 28-year-old has since thrown without trouble, and because the move was made retroactive to August 17th, he was eligible to return from the DL now. Provided he remains pain free, Ramirez should serve as a long reliever for Texas this September.
