by Jessica Polko San Diego returned Antonio Osuna to the disabled list on June 16th. Osuna quickly recovered from his groin injury, rejoining the Padres on May 31st after his last trip to the DL, but as June progressed, he reported soreness in his elbow. San Diego originally suspected bone chips but ultimately diagnosed Osuna with flexor tendinitis in his elbow. Although initial estimates indicated that he would attempt to throw within a week after hitting the DL, an MRI earlier this week revealed a sprained ulnar collateral ligament and a strained flexor tendon, so he will not attempt to pitch for another three weeks. If everything goes well, he might be able to return in late July, but that timetable easily could be extended.
