by Jessica Polko The White Sox placed Magglio Ordonez on the disabled list on June 4th. Ordonez was on the bench for a week due to soreness in his left calf before Chicago moved him to the DL. However, tests indicated that the pain likely resulted from a small tear in his medial meniscus. Consequently, Ordonez underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee yesterday. Doctors located the tear and corrected the problem, leaving Ordonez with a four to seven week recovery period from the surgery.
