by Jessica Polko Tim Salmon joined Anderson on the DL yesterday. Salmon began experiencing soreness in his left knee in late April, causing him to miss a few games. He returned for a couple of days, but when the soreness recurred, the Angels decided to send him to the disabled list, so he can give the knee the rest it needs to heal. Beyond inflamed cartilage no damage was reported following an MRI. Salmon might have been able to resume playing at least part time within a week, but Anaheim wanted to exercise caution and get a healthy player on the roster, since several other Angels are day-to-day with various ailments.
