by Jessica Polko On Wednesday, Montreal placed John Patterson on the disabled list. Patterson suffered a Grade 2 tear of his groin during the sixth inning of the Expos' April 27th game in San Diego. Montreal seems to believe he'll need three to four weeks to recover, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss up to six weeks. Sun Woo Kim will move into the rotation to replace Patterson during his absence. Kim has compiled a 9:9 K:BB with 8 H and no homers allowed in 18 IP for a 0.50 ERA over 8 relief appearances this year. He's not a strikeout pitcher, and his control obviously needs work. Fortunately, he's able to keep the ball on the ground, but Kim will need a lot of support from the Expos' defense to be effective.
