by Jessica Polko While rumors indicated early in December that the Yankees had finalized an agreement to re-sign David Wells, the deal evidently was never completed as Wells signed a one-year, $1.25M contract with San Diego on New Years' Eve. Reportedly, he also can earn up to $5.75M in bonuses if he makes at least 35 starts in 2004.
