by Jessica Polko St. Louis quickly followed their trade with two notable free agent signings. Reggie Sanders agreed to a two-year, $6M contract. He'll reportedly receive $2M in 2004 and $4M in 2005. Freed from the confines of PacBell in 2003, Sanders posted the second highest home run and slugging totals of his career. The 36-year-old doesn't possess great plate discipline, but he's able to maintain an acceptable OBP and his power earns him his starting job. He even possesses sufficient speed to be a threat on the basepaths. Busch Stadium will bring down his numbers somewhat, but I still expect a couple of solid seasons from Sanders.
