by Jessica Polko Anaheim Angels The following Angels are eligible for free agency: Scott Spiezio and Eric Owens. While Anaheim has interest in re-signing Spiezio, he'll likely leave for a team that can guarantee him a full-time position, as the Angels are concerned they'll only have a part-time job for Spiezio after they make their other moves. Owens will move onto another team looking for a forth outfielder. The 2002 World Champions fell out of the playoff race in 2003 after choosing to keep the team together, so they're looking to make some significant changes this off-season. Their shopping list includes a high-end starting pitcher, a big bat for the infield, and probably an upgrade on an outfielder as well. David Eckstein's expected to move to second base with Anaheim seriously pursuing Japanese shortstop Kazuo Matsui and Miguel Tejada. If the Angels are successful in acquiring a shortstop, they likely will non-tender Adam Kennedy. The Angels off-season will be a success if Anaheim keeps the American League's best bullpen in tact.
