by Jessica Polko Prior to the start of postseason play, I want to review our pre-season standings projections and offer our playoff forecast now that the playoff teams are set. I'll begin by covering our AL projections today and include our predictions for the American League Pennant before covering the NL and our projected World Series winner tomorrow.

Red Sox in 3. Minnesota at New York: The Twins have the momentum to take at least one game from the Yankees, probably game one. However, New York possesses a starting pitching advantage. This series could stretch to five games, but we think New York in 4. Boston at New York: Pedro should win every time he comes to the mound even with the Yankees throwing Mussina. Pettitte likely will triumph over Wakefield in Yankee Stadium, but Lowe can take Clemens in Boston. The Red Sox simply have the better offense. Boston in 5.
