by Jessica Polko Cincinnati picked up 2B-R Tim Hummel as the player to be named later for Scott Sullivan only days after that deal was first reported. The White Sox drafted Hummel out of Old Dominion University with their 2nd round pick in the 2000 draft. After splitting the remainder of 2000 between A Burlington in the Midwest League and A+ Winston-Salem in the Carolina League, he played a full season at AA Birmingham in the Southern League followed by a year at AAA Charlotte in the International League. A poor showing at AAA in 2002 earned him a return ticket this season. Prior to the trade, he was hitting .284 with a .350 OBP and .443 SLG On 135 H 25 2B, 3 3B, and 15 HR with a 46:83 BB:K and 9/12 SB% in 476 AB at Charlotte.
