by Jessica Polko Matt Morris has kept Cardinal fans busy keeping track of the status of his health over the past few months. He developed a knot below his shoulder blade in late June and then missed time due to a sore shoulder over the next month. St. Louis maintained the problem was not serious though Morris demonstrated a loss of velocity on the mound. He hit the disabled list at the end of July, not because of his shoulder but because he took a line drive off his pitching hand, breaking his index finger in the first inning of his July 21st start at San Diego. He was prepared to come off the DL later today when he sprained his left steps while walking on some steps in the lobby of the team's hotel in Philadelphia. Initial estimates indicate this accident will keep him on the disabled list at least another two weeks. However, the Cardinals will know more after the swelling goes down in a couple of days.
