by Jessica Polko Texas dealt Doug Glanville to the Cubs for Jason Fransz and cash on July 30th. The Cubs drafted Fransz out of the University of Oklahoma with their eighth round pick of the 2002 draft. He spent the remainder of last year in the Short-season Northwest League and then reported to A Lansing in the Midwest League to start the 2003 season. At the time of the trade, the 22-year-old was hitting .262 with a .328 OBP and .408 SLG on 70 H, 70 2B, 1 3B, and 9 HR with a 23:67 BB:K and 4/8 SB% in 267 AB.
