Baltimore again placed David Segui on the disabled list over the weekend. Segui injured his wrist while batting in the eighth inning of the Orioles' June 24th game in New York. However, he chose to attempt to play through the injury on Friday before informing the Orioles he was hurt. Segui now fears he may have torn the same tendon in his wrist, which he had surgically repaired last season. He's scheduled to meet with the a specialist today and should know by the end of the week if he's merely sprained the wrist and will be back in a few week or if he's out for the year again.

The Orioles activated Larry Bigbie from the DL to replace Segui on the roster. Bigbie initially hit the disabled list in late May as a result of a strained right rotator cuff. He might have been able to return to Baltimore after only a minimal stay on the disabled list, but he strained his right hamstring while on his rehab assignment and then aggravated the hamstring the first time he tried to resume the assignment. However, he's now been declared healthy and should receive considerable playing time.
