Toronto dealt OF-L Rich Thompson to Pittsburgh for John Wasdin in an effort to shore up their pitching staff last week.

The Blue Jays drafted Thompson out of James Madison University with their 6th round draft pick of the 2000 draft. He's moved quickly through the system, spending most of 2001 at A+ Dunedin in the Florida State League and all of last year with AA Tennessee in the Southern League.
