by Jessica Polko Florida entered the Ugueth Urbina sweepstakes late but came away a "winner" yesterday when they sent 1B-L Adrian Gonzalez, Will Smith, and Ryan Snare to Texas for Urbina. Gonzalez struggled a bit at AA last year, as the Marlins' promoted him directly from A Kane County in the Midwest League rather than having him stop at A+. He began the season by returning to AA Carolina in the Southern League, where he'd spent all of 2002, and clearly rebounded. After hitting .307 with a .368 OBP and .409 SLG on 42 H, 9 2B, 1 3B, and 1 HR with a 14:25 BB:K and 1/2 SB% in 137 AB, Gonzalez advanced to AAA Albuquerque in the Pacific Coast League.
