by Jessica Polko Toronto recently bolstered their bullpen with a couple of cast offs from the Diamondbacks and Yankees. The Blue Jays claimed Scott Service off waivers from Arizona and signed Juan Acevedo to a major league contract after New York released him. In order to make room for their new additions, Toronto demoted Corey Thurman and Mike Smith, neither of whom pitched during their short stays on the roster. Smith spent four days in the majors with the Blue Jays promoting him to fill Ken Huckaby roster spot as they moved to a 12-man pitching staff. Thurman was up for two days, replacing the demoted Josh Towers on the roster.
