by Jessica Polko Toronto placed Doug Creek on the disabled list yesterday, retroactive to May 17th. Reportedly, a checkup after he reported some discomfort revealed a minor strain to his left elbow. He probably won't be able to return on June 1st when he's first eligible to leave the DL, but he may be back by the second week of June provided he's able to resume throwing after a short rest period. While his 3.29 ERA was the best of the Blue Jays' active pitchers, that fact is more reflective of the Jays' pitching problems than of Creek's 11:12 K:BB with 14 H and 2 HR allowed in 13.2 IP.
