Anaheim: Troy Glaus, 3B A leading MVP candidate when another right shoulder injury seemingly ended his season in May, he returned a few days ago to replace Tim Salmon and Jeff DaVanon as Anaheim's DH. While I don't expect him to maintain an above-average BA given his long layoff and the diminished .75 contact rate he compiled at the beginning of the season, I also see no reason he can't resume his former level of power production. The 28-year-old possesses as much power potential as any hitter in the game, making him an excellent pickup now for anyone who needs quantitative and can afford limited BA damage. Owners in keeper leagues where Glaus hit the waiver wire earlier this year also should make every effort to acquire him since he should merit a $20+ bid next spring regardless of where he lands as a free agent.
