Anaheim: Alfredo Amezaga, 3B/SS After failing to secure a starting job in the spring, Amezaga now ranks with the worst batters in the majors thanks to this abysmal performance. Along with these terrible averages, his 3.10 G-F negates the limited upside suggested by a decent 3.41 #P/PA. With David Eckstein and Chone Figgins playing well for the Angels and prospects like Alberto Callaspo and Erick Aybar quickly rising through the system, Amezaga lacks the time necessary to emerge as more than a utility infielder for Anaheim. The 26-year-old failing prospect even could lose his 40-man roster spot by next spring barring an unexpectedly strong finish, so deal or cut Amezaga as his barely marginal immediate potential renders him useless to fantasy teams.
