Pitchers with 2 starts to deploy only in leagues that don't count qualitative stats:
With our two roster expansion moves, we're going to add a back-up reliever in Joe Borowski, and a back-up shortstop in Rafael Furcal. While we're inclined to add someone like Crawford, Loaiza, or even Rich Harden, we like the way our lineup looks this week and already lack the lineup spots to run the players we own.
SP(6) We're not risking a qualitative disaster from Schmidt, although Randy, Pedro, and Prior all look good; we'll add promising starts from Hudson, Millwood, and Brown to our three doubles. Borowski enters our lineup for Tim Worrell, who will spend the first half of the week in Colorado. Hall stays seated against Seattle and Oakland, and Huff joins him on the bench for similar reasons. Aaron Boone and Austin Kearns remain on our team for now as we're not ready to replace them, and then we'll reluctantly sit Manny, Berkman, and Luis Castillo for cap reasons.

While we like Loaiza and Webb a lot, we're using our roster expansion here on Matt Mantei, who'll immediately enter our lineup and allow us to bench Tim Worrell. Also, both Loaiza and Webb will be free agents in a couple weeks prior to solid double starts, so we'll wait to use our last free agent move.
SP(6) As losing Mulder leaves us with the same exact pitchers as in DC, we also will deploy Randy, Pedro, Hudson, Millwood, Brown, and Prior here. Sitting Hall, Delgado, Alfonso Soriano, and Orlando Cabrera seems fairly logical given our limited salary limitations here, and then we need both Huff and Durazo in the lineup with Pierre benched to fit under the cap.

We still like Borowski after further consideration, so we're going to add him to our roster, immediately deploying him for Worrell.
SP(6) No starts: Hudson, Oswalt, Mussina, Millwood, K.Brown, and Ainsworth. The home starts of Randy, Schilling, and Morris all appeal to us, while Prior and Loaiza also look solid. However we're unwilling to risk the likely qualitative problems from the other starters, and Pedro concerns us slightly given his health problems, so we're leaving Ainsworth deployed so we can run a stronger offense. Offensively, leaving Hall, Castillo, Cabrera, and Kearns benched is an easy decision, though we're going to sit Berkman in favor of Aaron Boone to squeeze under the cap.

As always, we're adding two pitchers here to give us the best variety of starts down the stretch. We have four solid doubles this week and three for next week, so as we also like Brown this week, we want to add one double this week and one solid double for next week. Rich Harden is an easy call given his double against Tampa and Baltimore this week, and Tampa single next week. The best double next week looks like Wade Miller in Los Angeles and San Diego, so we'll add him, sit him this week, and then expect to use him most weeks down the stretch. Esteban Loaiza and Brandon Webb both are tempting right now, although neither owns as good a schedule as the pitchers we're adding.
SP(6) Randy, Pedro, Schmidt, Brown, Prior, and Harden give us our best rotation in a while. Offensively, Hall, Phelps, Hudson, Ellis, Hinske, J.Hernandez, & J.Gonzalez all are benched, and then we're deploying Carlos Delgado instead of the increasingly useless Larry Walker; these moves also give us our best lineup in several weeks.
C Javy Lopez 1480 C Jason Varitek 1400 1B Todd Helton 3320 1B Frank Thomas 2030 2B Alfonso Soriano 2570 2B Marcus Giles 1080 3B Scott Rolen 2660 3B Joe Crede 1150 SS Nomar Garciaparra 2300 SS Orlando Cabrera 1820 OF Albert Pujols 3150 OF Manny Ramirez 2690 OF Lance Berkman 2850 OF Preston Wilson 2410 OF Vernon Wells 1780 OF Hideki Matsui 1500 DH Carlos Delgado 2850 DH Mark Teixeira 1000 SP Randy Johnson 4000 SP Pedro Martinez 2900 SP Jason Schmidt 1990 SP Kevin Brown 1910 SP Mark Prior 1800 SP Rich Harden 1500 RP Eric Gagne 2560 RP Keith Foulke 2330 RP Mike MacDougal 1500 RP Tim Worrell 1370 Total Salary for Week 22: 59900
Given his performance since returning from injury, Mark Prior is an automatic addition this week for roster expansion. Adding Prior gives us five doubles and a solid Brown start, so we're going to wait another week before using any of our six remaining buys, which we likely will use to add a few more double starts to our team.
SP(6) Pedro, Clemens, Schmidt, Brown, Loaiza, and Prior is a rotation we're happy to deploy. Ensberg, Cabrera, Berkman, and Milton Bradley are easy choices to sit, and we can't quite find room for Varitek, Delgado, or Huff in our lineup. Our last decision is between Larry Walker and Lowell, and since Lowell's slumping and we have the extra cap room, we're deploying Walker and benching Lowell.
