Today's Fantasy Rx: I usually like to see a minor league prospect spend his first
half-season in short-season ball before spending a full year at each of A-ball, A+, AA,
and AAA; however quality college players can move faster. An advanced college player
should be able to advance to AA by his third season, instead of the four or more years
normally required from a high schooler. The younger player may harbor more upside due
to his age, but unless he develops faster than normally expected, a high schooler often
will reach AAA only about a year younger than players from his HS class who attended
college.
